Behind Strong Efforts from Jimmy Garoppolo and Ryan Tannehill, Primetime Playmakers Moves into Semifinals


WEEK 14 RECAP: TUESDAY EDITION



With the duo of Jimmy Garoppolo and Ryan Tannehill carrying the team, Primetime Playmakers came back to defeat DirtyBird38 229.07 to 191.14. That tandem joined forces to score 74.91 points, significantly more than Carson Wentz and Matt Ryan (59.63 combined points), the top two on DirtyBird38. Garoppolo passed for four touchdowns, accounting for 37.78 points (349 Pas Yds, 4 TD/1 Int). Tannehill also recorded 391 passing yards on his way to 37.13 points (391 Pas Yds, 3 TD/1 Int). With 229.07 points, Primetime Playmakers had the fourth-highest total in the league this season. With Alshon Jeffery delivering zero points for Primetime Playmakers, the gap could have been wider.



Primetime Playmakers was on another level with their signal-callers, as they started two of the league's top-10 overall QBs this week (including Garoppolo, who was in the top five).



For the victorious side, several players have been playing their best at the right time, most notably Tannehill and Darius Slayton. Over the past four weeks, that duo has outperformed their season scoring averages by 124% and 116%, respectively. Despite the loss, DirtyBird38 had a few players peaking for the postseason, including Robby Anderson and Kyle Rudolph. Over the past month, that combo has averaged 13.32 and 11.34 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 107% and 85%. Conversely, the losers had a player who was fading down the stretch. Amari Cooper has dipped below his yearly average by 40% over the past month.



Primetime Playmakers marches on to the semifinals where they face top-seeded McCafe, who is coming off a bye week. Primetime Playmakers has a 1-1 record against McCafe this season. DirtyBird38 ended the regular season in fourth place with a record of 7-6. In terms of scoring average, they ranked slightly better (second with 171.30). DirtyBird38 was sent home quickly this postseason, losing in their first playoff matchup.
