McCafe Pulls Off Comeback over hashtag FreeWilly, Celebrates League Championship

McCafe beat hashtag FreeWilly 179.54 to 165.24 for their second win in as many head-to-head matchups. Their overall record goes to 12-3, while hashtag FreeWilly drops to 11-4. The historical series between these two teams has been a constant battle with McCafe owning the 3-2 lead over hashtag FreeWilly. The Indianapolis Colts DEF scored two return touchdowns and was the difference this week, picking up 48.57 points. Backed by the incredible game, the Indianapolis D has become a top-10 defensive team this year, averaging 17.59 points per game. The result might have been even worse as McCafe had a starter score zero points (D.K. Metcalf).

Mike Boone had plenty of chances for McCafe, but he logged just 33 total yards on 12 touches.

With 28 touches this week for Christian McCaffrey, it means that his touches have now increased in three consecutive games.



For the winners, a pair of players have been getting hot in the playoffs: DeAndre Washington and DeVante Parker. During the playoffs, that duo has surpassed their season scoring averages by 141% and 79%, respectively. On the other hand, McCafe has a player heading in the opposite direction. DeAndre Hopkins has fallen well beneath his year-to-date average in the postseason by 33%. Despite the loss, hashtag FreeWilly had a couple of players performing their best in the playoffs: Alvin Kamara and Melvin Gordon. During the postseason, that combo has averaged 20.59 and 12.77 points, respectively, topping their season-long marks by 79% and 37%. Conversely, the losers had a player who was sputtering under the brightest lights. Averaging 11.57 points on the season, D.J. Moore mustered just 7.38 per game in the playoffs.



McCafe wrapped up the regular season in first place with a record of 10-3. They also ranked first in the league with 192.88 points per game. After a bye in the first round of the playoffs, McCafe took down Primetime Playmakers, 186.57 to 171.70, on their voyage to the championship. They had the league's best average scoring margin this season, outpacing opponents by 30.46 points per game. hashtag FreeWilly finished the regular season with a record of 10-3, good for second place. From a points per game perspective, they ranked slightly worse (third with 177.00). Following an opening-round playoff bye, hashtag FreeWilly defeated Big R, 203.60 to 177.24.
