Article VII – Trades
7.1 For a trade to be granted in a given week, it must be accepted, and pass majority vote by league commissioners. (If both commissioners agree on the trade, trade will be accepted ASAP) (If both commissioners cannot agree on the trade it will then go to majority vote). If a plurality of the votes are against the trade, the trade will not be granted. A tie will result in the trade being granted. Players who have already played in a given week cannot be traded until the following week.
7.2 Once accepted through the hosting service, a trade cannot be withdrawn by one party due to player injury, suspension, or any other unforeseen circumstance. The only way a trade can be voided, is if it is withdrawn by both parties before the trade is granted (or league vote).
7.3 During the 48-hour trade acceptance period, however, the commissioners who choose to veto the trade must make a valid case to the owner(s) for why the trade should not be granted. There are primarily 3 valid reasons which a trade can be vetoed:
If the players involved in the trade are not of comparable value. The value must take into consideration the positions involved (QB, RB, WR, etc.) and the specific needs of each team. (Collusion)
If both teams aren't improved by the trade. (Collusion)
New ownership of a team involved in a trade. (Option to accept/decline)
7.4 Communication is expected between owners regarding trades. If a manager sends you a trade and you are not interested, state it in a message to them. Try to do so promptly, preferably within 72 hours of the trade proposal.
7.5 Draft order and specific draft picks can be traded up to 24 hours before the draft. Draft picks can be traded for the following year only. Trades may be made between any two members of the league. They can be any combination of players, draft picks. Draft picks must be traded on an even basis (each member in the trade must be trading away the same number of picks from the same draft year) and only for the following year in advance.
7.6 If the commissioner finds a reason to suspect collusion, he will question both parties as to their rationale behind the trade. He will not judge the reasoning but simply will determine if there is at least reasonable justification for why each side has agreed to the trade or whether there is collusion.
7.7 While any member may, by right, petition the commissioner with a complaint or protestation about any trade, the commissioner is not compelled to act on a complaint.
7.8 Trade deadline will be the 3rd week in Nov.
